Jake Cloudchair is a guitarist and instrumental music creator known for his deep focus on guitar tone, effects pedals, and sound design. His music is driven by expressive distortion, dynamic guitar playing, and atmospheric textures, drawing inspiration from boutique guitar pedals and modern guitar effects.

Blending instrumental rock, ambient guitar, and experimental guitar soundscapes, Jake creates immersive, guitar-driven instrumental music that balances intensity, clarity, and floating ambience. His work appealing to guitarists, pedal enthusiasts, and fans of instrumental and ambient guitar music.

He entered the professional music scene in 1996 as a member of Guniw Tools, later performing with Super Soul Sonics. In 2003, he launched his solo project cloudchair. In 2015, he formed the band THE MORTAL with Atsushi Sakurai (BUCK-TICK). Jake has performed and recorded as a guitarist for major Japanese artists including Kiyoharu, hitomi, and T.M. Revolution. He is also a video creator, writer, and translator, and has produced hundreds of guitar demo videos, pedal demos, and performance videos covering boutique effects, distortion pedals, ambient effects, and modern guitar gear.

In 2026, Jake begins unveiling the project “Pieces for Guitar Pedals” which refines and reimagines compositions originally inspired by guitar pedals.
